What is a Social Worker?

Social Workers fight for those who may not be able to fight for themselves. They help individuals, families, and groups of all backgrounds and needs meet skills needed to function in the world. Social Workers work with people during their most difficult times; whether through:

  • abuse

  • addiction

  • disability

  • discrimination

  • loss

  • mental illness

  • educational problems

  • poverty

  • etc.

Social Workers work hard to help assess needs, develop coping skills, refer to community resources, respond to crisis situations, and more.

Their ultimate goal is to make individuals, families, and groups, process through their stressors in life and grow to be healthy emotional, physically, mentally, and even spiritually.
