Self Care

Staying Healthy: Physically and Emotionally

Self Care is about taking time for oneself so as to make time for others. It is about giving yourself an opportunity to focus inwardly and explore you. Click the Ted Talk below to learn more about self care. Below are also some other links to places and activities to work on your self care.

Emergency Self Care Plan

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves about Self Care and the appropriate times that we need it. This sheet is an opportunity to explore when you might need self care, and for you to write down some ideas that you can turn to when you are in need. It also gives you some examples of things you can do! Click below to print out your own Emergency Self Care Plan!

Outdoor Self Care

One opportunity for self care is the great outdoors. Take time for yourself outside and explore the wilderness. Allow yourself time to commune with nature through walks/hikes, time at the beach, outdoor yoga, a jog/run, biking, you name, you can probably do it outside! Below is a link to an "All Trails" website. You can type in your zip code and it will tell you about all of the trails in your neck of the woods.

Love Yourself First

Take time to love yourself first. To do that, make sure you are mentally healthy just as much as you are physically healthy. Allow yourself space to take care of your mind. Many people suffer from mental illness or even just need someone to talk to. There is always someone out there to listen. Below is a link to our Support Resources page. Explore the page and allow yourself to ask for help.

Art as Therapy

Do you love art? Art is a way of expressing oneself and studies have shown that it can be quite therapeutic. Take some time to do some art. Whether it's just coloring in a coloring book, doodling on paper, or painting a picture. Below is a link to an art journaling page. Learn how to art journal as a self care tool!
