The Team

Liz Pierce

MSW

Liz grew up in Southern Maine and her love for the state sent her to continue her education at the University of Maine in Orono where she obtained her Bachelor's of Social Work degree. After graduation, deciding she needed an adventure, Liz lived in Darjeeling, India where she volunteered with a non-profit organization. Upon returning to the United States, Liz worked as a Case Manager for children with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. Liz wanted to be able to better serve the populations she was working with and decided to return to school to obtain a Master's in Social Work at the University of New England. Her field placement was in a youth detention center where she discovered her passion for working with incarcerated youth. Liz saw the benefits of using expressive modalities with the youth she worked with and decided to pursue the Applied Arts and Social Justice certificate at UNE. Liz is excited to inspire others by balancing traditional social work with awareness and creative expression.
